Our Beginning

Unite local leadership and preserve what makes Newton County special.

Newton County, a place known for its small-town charm and diversity, faced rapid growth in the early 2000s. This prompted the creation of Newton County Tomorrow (NCT) in 2002. Our mission: To unite local leadership and preserve what makes Newton County special.

Our Vision

Newton County Tomorrow envisions a place where public and private community partners work collaboratively to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Newton County.

Our Mission

Newton County Tomorrow’s mission is to enhance the community by facilitating cooperation and collaboration of public officials, individuals, and organizations to address critical local challenges and to build on current assets and future opportunities to promote a common agenda.
Testimonials

Your Voice Matters

We value citizen input, and our work has earned recognition from respected organizations, including the American Planner's Association and the Orton Foundation.

Orton Family Foundation Case Study

The Newton Community has done more, committed more and achieved more in the way of collaborative planning than any other small-scale community we know of in the US. And, this has occurred during the worst economic downturn in modern times.

Economics of Land Use

I work with local governments across the southeast on issues related to the economics of land use and I can assure you that Newton County is one of a very small number of communities where the various leaders actually talk to each other in an organized way.

Economic development and sustainability goals

One great example is the Leadership Collaborative established by several municipalities and the county in Newton County GA to come to grips with the ever- outward expansion of metro Atlanta.
